Accounting, Audit and Advisory for Companies in ADGM
Overview
Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) is Abu Dhabi's international financial centre, covering Al Maryah Island and Al Reem Island. It has its own regulations, applies English common law directly, and runs its own independent authorities: the Registration Authority, the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) and the ADGM Courts.
That gives an ADGM company two sets of rules to keep up with. ADGM's own regulations decide how your accounts are prepared, audited and filed. The UAE's federal laws decide your VAT and Corporate Tax, which are handled through the Federal Tax Authority like any other UAE business.
Ahmad Alagbari Chartered Accountants helps you meet both, from day-to-day bookkeeping to annual accounts, audit, tax and restructuring, so you can focus on running the business. We bring over two decades of experience and are part of Alif Group, whose firms operate in the UAE, KSA, Qatar, Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States.
What every ADGM company should know
Accounts follow international standards. ADGM companies prepare their accounts under IFRS (International Accounting Standards).
Only ADGM registered auditors can sign a statutory audit. Audited accounts for an ADGM entity must be audited by an auditor registered with the ADGM Registration Authority.
Small companies may be exempt from audit. A company with turnover of no more than USD 13.5 million and no more than 35 employees can qualify for the small companies regime, unless its members ask for an audit.
Corporate Tax can still require an audit. A Qualifying Free Zone Person that wants the 0% Corporate Tax rate must keep audited financial statements, whatever its size.
VAT and Corporate Tax are federal. Registration, returns and payments go through the Federal Tax Authority.
Audit & Assurance
An audit should give your shareholders, banks and regulators confidence in your numbers, not just tick a filing box. AAA is registered with the ADGM Registration Authority as a Registered Auditor, and we plan each audit around how your business actually works, so findings are useful to management as well as compliant.
- Statutory audit of annual accounts under the ADGM Companies Regulations 2020 and IFRS
- Audited financial statements for Qualifying Free Zone Persons
- Review engagements and agreed-upon procedures
- Audit readiness reviews before year end
Accounting & Ancillary Services
Clean, up-to-date books make every deadline easier, from the annual accounts to the audit and the tax return. We can run your accounting end to end or support your in-house team.
- Bookkeeping and monthly management accounts
- Annual financial statements prepared under IFRS
- Accounts filing support with the ADGM Registration Authority, including the small companies regime
- Payroll processing and reporting
- Budgets, cash flow forecasts and board reporting packs
VAT Services
Being in ADGM does not take a business outside UAE VAT. We make sure you are registered when you need to be, file on time, and treat each transaction correctly so penalties do not build up quietly in the background.
- VAT registration, amendments and deregistration with the Federal Tax Authority
- Preparation and filing of VAT returns
- VAT health checks and transaction reviews
- Voluntary disclosures and support with FTA queries
- Corporate Tax registration and Qualifying Free Zone Person review alongside your VAT
Insolvency & Business Restructuring
When cash is tight or a company has served its purpose, acting early keeps more options open. ADGM has its own insolvency framework under the Insolvency Regulations 2022, and we help you understand where you stand and what to do next.
- Financial reviews and restructuring options for businesses under pressure
- Cash flow and turnaround planning
- Support with negotiations with creditors and lenders
- Preparation for solvent closure of companies that are no longer needed
Formal insolvency appointments in ADGM are held by individuals registered with the ADGM Registration Authority. We prepare the financial groundwork and coordinate with a registered insolvency practitioner for the formal appointment.

- Not every company needs an audit. If your company qualifies for the small companies regime and has no other reason to be audited, we will tell you, rather than sell you an audit you do not need.
